Well, I have decide it is a loss cause to save my great apt. I was hoping to get on this since it seemed a start of bb. Its been 1 1/2 months. My roommates still after the 3 rd pco .I went in her room, because I had offered to paint it. I see still she has clothes in her closet, not washed, not bagged and dressers full. We are living in a chemical waste land here since the pco also flipped out on me and sprayed the heck out of the place. He acted like since he did not get rid of them round two, I was insulting his man hood.
I was going to try to get new roommates, but I have to disclose this information and who wants to even look in here. So many people said, "you pco they are gone, now you don't have to tell them". Yeah, sure with even the proper prep , that would be difficult to eliminate and now that I see that they are laying eggs for another month and a half, since my roommates did nothing but wash her bed sheets and put her stuff unclean in plastic , and then just then just but everything back unclean before the 2nd treatment. They have infested the place out of carelessness. They just do not care. They say they will not kill you. She goes to work her, friends and all and just brings her dirty stuff. She did pack most of her tons of junk, when I threatened to take them to housing court, one is here on a work visa and wants no problems, she just packed her stuff and is moving it to her new apt, bb and all. Infesting another building...So, I am just going to get rid of everything I own that can not be positively clean and get my own place. It is so expensive in New York. We had a fantastic apt. Now its just a mess, i feel. In the beginning, they were trying to get me to leave and another friends of theirs who did not care about bb was going to move in. I say , after all the headache, I gave the landlord, he should be thanking me, that they were the 3 of them just going to live her, with the bb's and the entire building would have been so infested buy the time they got to it...
They actually called the landlord and super and said that they would not complain they are not bothered by the bugs. NO LIE. Menace to society.
So sad. I should have moved out day one, but I was not going to take them with me and I could not afford it. So, I will just be thankful I have some money saved after all my hard work saving it and start over.Start completely over.

I can't understand how people can be complacent about bedbugs. I think you did the right thing in terms of threatening to take them to housing court. You CAN get rid of the bedbugs, and the bad roommates if you do decide to stay. It will take a lot of work and persistence and follow-up on your part.
If you decide to leave, make sure you are cleaning everything on the way out, and inspect it when you get to your new place.

As unfortunate as it is, I would say the best thing would be to just live alone. If this is something that has upset you so much, it doesn't seem worth it to potentially bring yourself down with other people, especially if it is causing issues between you. The truth is, a lot of people view bedbugs this way. I don't think it is that they are "selfish" or lazy. People tend to use their logic and their personal experiences as a frame of reference for things. The problem is, bedbugs defy any and all logic, and if you don't educate yourself extensively, you really won't understand how evil these bugs are! I certainly didn't think much about it, and wasn't even that concerned, until I started researching on the internet and found all of this information. But it seems like you have a good hold on the situation, at least have targeted harborage sites, and your apartment might be salvagable!

I imagine that people who don't have allergic reactions would view bedbugs as "just another insect".

Just another insect? Just another insect that crawls all over you, biting you while you sleep, that left unchecked will be everywhere in your home in time, that will feed off you until you are quite anemic given there are enough of them even if you are not allergic to the bites they still do damage from blood loss, which causes a host of other symptoms from nervousness, anxiety, ect. That's even if you are not skeeved out by the bugs themselves, just from the loss of blood over time.Just another bug? I don't think so!

You are right. I think I will have to call the health department. This is not a coach roach or mice. This is an infestation that effects everyone.
She says she has been feeling faint and can not do much around the apartment. I say its been 1 1/2 months and she has not done anything, but excuses. She is not sleeping here so , I know she is some what afraid, even thought she acts like its no big deal.
I will do what I can to expose her ignorance because I have been through so much, cost me so much, all these chemicals and stayed off from work, as to get it taken care of. I hired the K9 bb dogs, which where amazing to help pinpoint things and confirm it was not in my head, actually helping me to find one in a trap. I fell like I need to expose her stupidity as an example to how serious this is.
Maybe educating others. I NY , its only going to get worse. It will probably be years before we can really get rid of this epidemic.
But we can not give up and just live with this like they have in other countries.

I am amazed at the NYC trash men. They took away 2 very huge bookshelves, my heavy desk and all that trash. Heavy stuff wrapped in plastic. Not marked because my super said its been pco and would not let us mark, because he was afraid they would not take it away. The cars are parked close on the street and they took it away. Amazing. Those guys are not given enough credit. What a job. My roommate wrapped her selves in plastic as I demanded. Had her friend help her take out. I notice, she did not wrap the underneath and just dragged through my apt and the halls of the building. I vacuumed immediately, and I can not stop telling her how ridiculous she is. Her friend - her to help her- did not know the existent of the situation and said, OH I don't want to be in here. I said, I'd bag and wash your clothes. She was going to be spending the nights at friends and had to be in those clothes for 2 days.
She helped my roommate and then they went to dinner , at the local restaurant.
