I'm so very happy for you winning the battle against Bed Bugs. It is life altering! Thanks for your advice on hiring PCO's. I hope and pray you never have to encounter them again

In NYC and that includes Brooklyn, doesn't the landlord have to pay the exterminating costs if it's a rental unit?

What did the exterminator do? Did he use a certain chemical, heat, dust, etc? Just curious.

Did the exterminator use steam? I watched a tv show that said that was the only sure way. What did it cost? Hundreds, thousands? I'm in a very small travel trailer. I don't think you are OCD. This is one of the creepiest things I have ever had to deal with. I am freaked out. I am in Austin TX. Have no idea where/when they came from. I have about 5 bites, my husband none. I have seen what I think is feces on our sheets. Also, last night I found a dead one or else it is there skin. It just looks like a whole one. Appreciate any advice. Should I start throwing out belongings? Washing everything?

I hope you informed the neighbors below, and to either side of you, if you have them.
I also hope you reported the landlord to the housing authority and to 311.
I don't care if you signed a lease, you have rights, and if your neighbors' places aren't treated, you may find yourself right back where you started.

BTW, how do you know the PCO you hired didn't initially drive the bugs from the upstairs apartment to yours?
