Vikane vault treatment with Bed Bugs and Beyond?
(3 posts)-
I've seen a lot on here talking about how wrong a truck treatment can go and has gone with these guys, but when we talked to them the deal they presented to us is they bring these pallette/box kind of things to our apartment, we are in charge of filling them, each is 300 cubic feet, then they take them to their facility, put them in a vault, suck out all the air, replace it with poison, then put our stuff in storage (still in the things we packed up) for up to a month (included in the price) until we come pick it up or have them deliver it to our place (we're using them to move, so our stuff won't be coming back to the infested apartment). This is also less than the truck treatment (probably not in cubic feet per dollar, but they can clearly do a smaller amount, so prices start much lower).
Has anyone done that? Does the loose-packing holes-in-all-boxes stuff still go the same way when it's for a vault rather than a truck?

Okay, my husband has been setting this all up, so there are some things I was unclear on, it turns out that Bed Bugs and Beyond does the fumigation, but the pick-up/storage/drop-off of the stuff is done by Bed Bug Busters, whose parent company is Moving Right Along. Basically, Bed Bug Busters arranges it all, and has Bed Bugs and Beyond come to their location for the fumigation our your stuff.
This is the web site for Bed Bug Busters http://www.bedbug-busters.com/Home_Page.html Some of the prices on the site are apparently outdated, as it costs a little more.
We're going for it, it's more costly than we would have thought because we're basically hiring them to fumigate and move us out of state, so just having them fumigate your things, storing and returning them would be cheaper. -
More discussion of Moving Right Along here. I have not looked at all of these but I think some of them discuss the pod option.
I thought someone was told they vikane on receipt and again after storing the stuff, though I cannot verify that.
