Hi: I've had all my remaining furniture removed and fumigated--my apartment is empty--I even got my blinds fumigated. Does that greatly reduce the bb population in my apt? PCO says he thinks that I will not get any more bites after this--the second treatment. He did not think the infestation was severe but he did completely spray the wood floors in my apt. and I will be filling in cracks, sanding and urathaning within the next few weeks. That should help too right?

Also going to caulk the baseboards as soon as we finish sanding and urathaning.....

This should help a lot, but have you been advised by the PCOs on when you will get the furniture back, and how you will ensure the home is 100% bed bug-free before doing so?

I am not getting the furniture back until the apartment is clear, but I am not so sure as to how to determine this. I've been told no biting or sighting for 8 weeks means its probably gone. But I am open to other suggestions.

Also--I think I may have had the infestation for 4-5 months before I picked up on it. What are the odds on getting rid of this with just two treatments following all the measures listed above--

I am working on getting neighbors around me in the building inspected as well....

No biting or sighting IF you react to bites seems like a plan.
A bed bug dog would offer reinforcement (they're not 100% effective at detecting, so I would not do this instead of waiting 8 weeks).

I am not sure what these service providers recommend to folks who do not react to bites. That seems like a problem with this method for a large segment of the population.

I react to these little suckas so it seems like the eight weeks plan is a good one. I am hoping to get clear of these things and get back into my house with all the furniture in it within the next two-three months. Right now I am there with just a cot to sleep on. But at least it's a start.

    Thanks for your input
