UV lights to kill bugs?

I'm calling some PCO's tomorrow, so researching all the best ways to kill bb's. I wondered about UV light and CO2 traps (like mosquito traps) and looked them up; I figured why not? I'm willing to Vikane my entire house right now and that's some scary stuff! Anyway, Sam's Club has a product that claims to kill bb's and wondered if anyone has tried it or something like it. The "Purelight Germicidal Ultraviolet Light Wand" - quote from the online ad says "Not only will this disinfect for viruses, bacteria, mold and mildew, but will also kill bed bugs, bed mites, etc. Vacuum, kill, then vacuum again.".
I can't imagine that this will do anything on a large-scale infestation, and that you probably have to go all Darth Vader with the wand and hold it over the bugs, but just thought I'd ask.
Also, if anyone has experience with DFW TX area PCO's please pass along a recommendation. I'm flying blind here!

Hi,
This is one of those cases where the people making the product wish to give it maximum appeal to people. UV technology is suitable for viruses, molds, bacteria and dust mites.
The fact however remains that bed bugs are not dust mites and these systems are not effective against them.
Unfortunately bed bugs are seen as the "new plague" and loads of people are desperate to jump on the band wagon. In some cases the adapted products such as mattress encasement's can have some benefit as part of an integrated pest management solution but are not the absolute answer in themselves.
Sorry but in this case it will not help.
