Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » Uncategorized

So most of you may remember, I was "diagnosed" in mid Oct. From Oct 16 - Nov 12 I had 3 treatments from Orkin; steam and product. After our thrid treatment, we decided, not only for the BBS but also for other reasons, that it was time to move. We talked to our PCO and I decided that I was not throwing out my furniture but also didn't want to risk bringing them with us. So, we purchased 6 mil plastic and LOTS of gorilla tape and wraped the furniture as if we were refabricing the furniture. We wrapped all cushions seperately and such. So, the PCO comes to check out the furniture and says that he is pretty sure this will work but we must keep it wrapped for AT LEAST 6 months. So while packing we don't see any bugs at all...NOT a one. So we move. One week later, we find a bed bug (live) in a folder in my sons room. This folder had been in my sons room at our old place which had been deemed clear and people were sleeping in there with no bites for almost 3 weeks before the move. Now my brother is reacting severly to the bites so I was almost positive that no bugs were in that room anymore. So, I captured the bug that we found in my sons new room and put it in a bottle. So I have been observing it the last couple days...and this morning...It's DEAD. Now, i caught one back in Oct when this began and it took 4 1/2 weeks for it to die. Why would this new one die so quickly? We did have our PCO come out to the new house just 3 days after moving and he treated around baseboards and stuff like that. I have been checking all bedding, mattresses, baseboards, rugs, have clothes in XXXL ziplocks. NO signs of them at all. No fecal marks, No bites, nothing.
Thoughts? The thought of going through all this at the new house is just unbearable..i don't think I have the energy to do it...

oh DieBBs I'm so sorry. :(
I just moved into a house as well & I look around & see all gaps, all the freaky little places they could hide if I brought them and I want to faint.
I think it's good that you had the house sprayed before you came in. I would let the PCO who sprayed know that you found one. Maybe they can treat again and nip this is the bud. Any chance for a BB sniffer? Maybe there is something you brought that needs to go.
oh! I really hope it was an errant, isolated bug.

Well I am wondering if IT came in contact with pesticide at the old house, found the folder to hide in and then we moved IT and that is why it is dead so quickly? I am perplexed as to why this one died so quickly vs 4 1/2 weeks with the other? Maybe this new one came into contact with the pesticide at the new house? I don't know...no other signs so I am holding on to hope that IT was a straggler.

I always thought bringing your furniture to the new place was a bad idea. I hope it was a single straggler but doubt it was. :(((((( I hope if any bugs did sneak by, that they came in contact with the poison and will die soon.
Keep your guard up and keep looking for evidence.
