Hi all,
Just wanted to give everyone an update: No Bed Bugs found!!! Yay. The K9 guy came with his dog and did a really thorough search, sweeping my place twice with the dog and doing also manual inspection. He stayed a good 1.5 hrs, or so. Result: no bugs! Hallelujah! My mystery bites may have been from something else (spider is my guess, as that is the only other bug of which I know with certainty that its bite gives me hives) and maybe some paranoia, too.
Thanks again to everyone for their support. It was really helpful to talk to people about this. You don't even know how much I appreciate it. Hope I never have to run onto this forum for help again! (Tho, I might lurk around here and there, time permitting.)

Great news, Catsy! I had two K9 teams come in last week and they cleared me as well! It is such a good feeling, but I still worry a lot. I found a small bump on my leg last night, but it is only that one and doesn't look too bad, so I am going to blame it on something else!
