Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » Bed Bug Treatment
unsure/sort of excited/still pretty traumatized

So I had my first treatment. The pest control guy used Tempo spray on Tuesday and it looks like he was pretty thorough. He's coming back in three weeks. He said tempo is pretty residual, is this true? He also said it can take between 13-21 days for the eggs to hatch.. I've read 10 in a lot of places, but can climate and such effect that? (I live in Vancouver, British Columbia). I have found a couple dead bugs which greatly improves my mood every time even though I know this is by no means the end. With tempo, what else can I be doing to make this work better/faster? Can I dust DE in the baseboards etc even though I'm pretty sure they've been sprayed? All I want is to be rid of these little nasties but I know it takes time. Also my bed frame has been steamed and dusted with DE and then we covered it in plastic to the floor so they can't get up. The mattress is covered as well. I know isolating the bed is not always recommended but it is the only way I am able to get any sleep. Even though the bed is isolated, will they still be drawn out of their harborages by my smell and then get got by the Tempo? I live in a small one bedroom apartment and I know for a fact that they are in the living room as well as the bedroom.. Will they still be drawn out into the poison with me sleeping in the bedroom? Also my pack-tite arrived at the border today so as soon as I am able to I'll be going to pick that up. I feel like a little girl on Christmas.

ALSO, is isolating the bed going to cause them to climb up the walls?! That is a nightmare. Would my PCO have sprayed the walls as well?

Most of the advice I have seen says to pull your bed out from the wall 12" after isolating it.

Oh it's already away from the wall. Can they climb up the wall/onto the roof/ drop down from there? Am I just being paranoid? Ahhhhh. Hopefully one of the site's experts sees this.

They can climb and will. They will climb the plastic as well.
