Trying nightwatch, how to clean

Ok, so I have not have bb in the past but have been freaked out over the last two weeks and have ripped apart my house to find nothing. To put my mind at ease I ordered a nightwatch system. Assuming I currently don't have them, how can I be sure these units don't introduce them? It is a new unit, but I am not sure if it gets "tested" at the factory.
