Treatment process question
(1 post)-
Greetings, all! This is my first post to this forum... I've been fighting the bedbug battle for 2.5 months now. Just recently, I've gained the upper hand with self-treatment. I've done 2 dustings with diatomaceous earth, and haven't had any bites for a week following the 2nd... a glimmer of hope. I've had a very difficult time finding a PCO in my area that knows how to treat for BBs; they're not very common in No. California. Using the advice I've found here and gotten from a distant PCO, none of the local companies were willing to do what I felt was "right." I've settled on a PCO that uses the "right" chemicals and charges the "right" price range, but they say it should only take 1 treatment, 2 at the most. So here's the question: they're coming this morning for treatment #1. I've cleared out all the dressers and closets in the house, washed all the bedding, etc. Should I keep all our clothes out of the house and call for another treatment in 2 weeks? Should I return all our clothes after cleaning them all on hot, in hopes that another treatment isn't necessary? I've already been dressing out of my car for 2 weeks, to avoid spreading BBs to anyone else. Also of note, I think we have a very light infestation... I'm the only one in our family of 5 currently getting bitten... my kids each had a few bites before I had done any treatment to their room, no bites since. My entire life outside of work revolves around cleaning, steaming, washing, drying, folding, dusting, vacuuming, etc. I want to simplify this process as much as possible, without compromising lasting results. Any hints from anyone would be appreciated!
