Tips for hosting a houseguest?

I have a houseguest staying with me this weekend who I'd normally not worry about in terms of bringing bed bugs along, but this weekend he'll be working with college students who will be sleeping in a hostel that has an entry in the Bedbug Registry. Eek. I've already asked him to be careful not to leave his bag near the students' bags when he's with them during the day, but are there any other precautions I should take or ask him to take? I don't want to be a paranoid overbearing host, but I also don't want to get my own colony of bed bugs.
