Tiny white bug....possible nymph(3 posts)
I just returned from a vacation, while away, I got a couple clusters of bites...but they appeared the night on a day we spent at the beach, so I was hoping they were related to the beach.we were mostly staying with family but did stay in a couple hotels, these bites showed up about 4 days after we left the hotel.
While unpacking. I noticed a small white bug crawling on my shorts. I immediately took it to the bathroom, and inspected it and crush it flushed it down the toilet. It appeared to be a tiny spider, but short legs and a small bodywork body and legs I would say it was fairly circular, not the elongated bedbug body I have seen in photos. Very white in color. I had familarized myself with bedbug pictures, but now I am wondering about the nymphs...and now realizing I should not have discarded it. Going a bit crazy. I zipped up my suitcase and took it to the laundry room but I am really worried about it. I had washed most of my clothes before returning home, but I guess I will be rewashing it all.
Any input is greatly appreciated. My husband thinks I am crazy worrying about this, since the places we stayed in were 'clean'. He thinks it is so unlikely and thinks I am nuts for considering anything.
Unfortunately it could have been anything. Nobody is going to be able to tell you what it was. Its best to steam, vacuum or Packtite the luggage. I stay in clean hotels all the time ... it means nothing as I have found bugs in my hotel rooms. Most of my clients have "clean" homes but find themselves dealing with bed bugs.
They don't discriminate - you're dealing with a pest of exposure and that means it can happen to anyone.
Stay vigilant and keep a watchful eye on both your sleepign and resting areas. Learn the early signs to help detect bed bugs from the fact section on the site. You may want to also look into setting up monitors to help track down anything. They work 24/7 so they go a lot longer then the typical inspection.
PS. David Cain ~ You can't use my 24/7 line ... Its trade marked.
Thanks, I realize no one can tell me what it was..I guess I was hoping for a likely or unlikely, but I understand.
I have tried to tell my husband clean hotels mean nothing when it come to bedbugs. I have been checking everything and rewashing. Crossing fingers. Thanks again.
