This is my CRAZY story!
(8 posts)-
I am new to this site. Here is my story.
In May so about 6 months ago, I started getting itching down there, and started going to the gyno (never had anything wrong with the skin, which is where it itches ALL THE TIME). They did find something else wrong, and I had surgery for it, but that has nothing to do with the itching. Anyways, the itching now 6 months later is STILL THERE.
Just a little over a week ago went to the dermatologist because I cant live like this. I can't even wear underwear because it ITCHES. Anyways, the dermatologist didnt see anything, and examined the area (the pubic mound). She said that there were no visible problems (just redness), but since I was itching so bad, she took a biopsy. The biopsy just recently revealed highest probability of arthropod bites.
I have been given a cream to rub from my head to the bottom of my feet 1x a week for 2 weeks, and I was given a prescription strength I think hydrocortisone cream. Today was my first day trying underwear again after 1 week on the cream (have to use ot for 1 month.) I was able to have underwear on for about 4 hour, which beats not being able to have them on at all. But I am so upset thinking that this itching will never go away. PLEASE HELP!PS. I have also hired a pest control company to come and spray my house since I dont know why I am getting bit (if that's what it is) and why it is only in my genital area

I have not heard in the three weeks that i have been reading about BB of any thing like this with BB but have you seen evidence of them in you home but I did hear of them in clothing and in the elastic of underwear!! I have read probably 1000's of pages but here is what it Might be when a bed bug bites the bite can go away and reappear It happened to me!! did you ask the gyno if this could be from BB bite!! you can also have a severe reaction to the bug!! Do you remember where you were when you got the bite!!

Dear sweetz0625,
I'm not an expert, but this doesn't sound like bedbug behavior. But it may help to encase your mattress and box spring and wear pajamas with the tops tucked into the bottoms. Cotton underwear (granny pants) might also help. Your PCO should be able to identify the bug on their first visit. Hope you feel better soon. -
Inside the bikini line is the only place i havent been bitten, i get a lot right at the underwear line but nothing inside. Just in the bikini line doesnt sound like bedbugs. You might try alcohal and baking soda that works better to stop the itch than the cortizone they gave me. mix it into a paste and put in on and let it dry then the baking soda will fall off. you can try putting vasoline on it, they appear to avoid vasoline.

So....the pest guy just left my house and sprayed all around for other critter, but he said that I also have BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am SO DISGUSTED!! He saw a shell on my bed, and he said that he needs to treat the bed and bedroom itself, and so he is coming back this upcoming week with his chemical stuff, and is going to treat my bed and bedroom.
I am very relieved that we found out that I have bed bugs, and that he is going to treat my bed. He recommended that I not sleep in my bed or bedroom, until he treats them this upcoming week.So is this the mysterious arthropod bites that I have on my pubic skin?? I dont know but I am sure happy that is it is, that they wont be biting me anymore.
Stevebeast it is not just in the bikini line, it is all over my pubic mound, which is right beneath my stomach (where hair grows). Gross but true! Anyways, I will try that baking soda trick, how long did it take for your bites to feel better??And did you go to a derm and get a biopsy of the skin??
This is all just so frustrating and I want to be able to be normal again, I mean my skin to NOT itch!! :(

I didnt get a biopsy and i am not 100% that it is bedbugs i been unable to catch one. The bites look just like the ones in the pictures and in the same pattern, i cant find anything else it could be. After about a day they dont itch unless i touch them and after about 2 weeks they wont bother me and they take about 2 moths to go away, softer spots leave a little scar i am hoping will eventually go away.
That could be your anthropod, its possible your pubic skin is more sensitive and you are being bit other places and just dont show it, but it is out of character for bedbugs to only bite one spot. The good news is i dont think there are any bugs that will survive bed bug poisons.
Seems strange him telling you not to sleep in your bed i have heard they will come looking for you. Its posted all over that is a way to spread them. I took a shower and put on clean clothes and slept in the basement and they found me in about 3 days. Now i assume they are everywhere. I been sleeping in the bathtub with the shower doors closed and the fan on and i dont think they have found me.
