When you say "you " want to do thermal, do you mean you want to hire a company to do it? If so they should know how to protect your sprinkler system.

Then don't hire him if he doesn't know what to do.

hes got good reviews and i dont have many options being in nyc. he seems knowledgeable and honest. the fact that he told me he couldn't do it because of the sprinklers says as much. now ive just got to figure out how to disable and protect the sprinklers...

The heating units are from one of two firms, I'm sure he can get the info, however sometimes it is
not as simple as it seems and people can be intimidated. And obviously you don't want them going off either.

Sam338, I agree with the above statements. I do not provide thermal remediation, but I have researched both companies that offer the this technology. Through my research the answer to your question can be found, it makes me wonder why the company who owns this technology does not know.

They make sprinkler covers that keep the temperature around the sprinkler unit from rising to the point of going off. This temperature must be constantly monitored to make sure it stays below 120 degrees.
(I think it was 120 degrees,I could be wrong on the temp.)

As BB could harbor near the sprinkler heads, why would you want to insulate them from treatment? AFAIK, sprinkler heads are activated by a replaceable gel capsule, designed to melt at a target temperature. Research sprinklers, call a plumber and/or fire protection company. And, I'd be leery of what else this thermal guy (to whom you're paying a lot of money and entrusting your home) does not know how to do? Remember, this is a very new industry, attracting new players in a hurry. Best of luck.
