The send K9 team in 2 weeks and bad news.

First the dog would not alert on the hidden bbs the handler brought. I thought = this is bad, he doesn't recognize anything. Then after 4-5 passes he hit on it. When I asked to see the bb's (I still have not seen one yet) I told him the bugs were dead. He said because he carries them in his pocket and it has been hot he had been killing a lot lately (they don't feed their bugs to my knowledge).

Then he started - hit on TV cabinet, DVD, CDs Xbox 360 (purchased used - big mistake!) when I took out the CDs and put them in a laundry basket he hit on again. Strangely the couches were OK even tho my son is on the couch all the time doing the xbox. Will take all cds out of cases - should have done already. Hit on spare bed in our room my son is sleeping on, my boxspring, my closet and the games in garbage bags in my sons room and the vacuum (not surprising)

I am devastated. I do not know how the bigs are getting out of to to the bed to bite us. We checked the bed again last night. Took the mattress off, and box and checked the metal frame again with a magnifying glass - nothing. No blood or fecal either. My husband has some bites, but he was working on and under the barn.

I am so ready to have thermal. I will get the money out of a IRA - I can't live this this anymore! How can one dog team have only one alert and 2 weeks later another team find so many alerts? We did have a treatment in between and maybe they are coming out. I think there are in the walls. I hope thermal will work. How soon can I have it done? If I call Monday is there usually a big backlog?

I would love to have KillerQueen but I don't think he will come all the way up to me.

I know that you have to be really careful on K9 inspection...not all owners/dogs are experienced or dog trained enough. i really don't know much about it. I just don't feel really comfortable with the k9's that were at your house? Maybe it's just me.

The sooner you call for thermal appt the better. Remember they have to come do an inspection/estimate first.

bugnut, did the handler do a visual inspection of the alerted areas? I would not call for thermal until you have visual evidence.

No - no visuals - he was not a good handler. I would dismiss it but the dog did hit on the bed (and closet) and we are still getting bitten.

We emptied the TV unit and cleaned it with alcohol (the vacuum was also a hit - now outside) the bags in my sons room (boxed games) which were a hit are also gone too and the few remaining are in ziplocs awaiting the packtite. I called the PCO (he asked me to when I finished with the inspection) and he will treat again tomorrow - covered by the warranty. So we will treat again and see how that goes.

When I was vacuuming like a madwoman Friday, I did not see any evidence. I had my husband help me take apart the bed again and inspect. But all three of us have bites. I actually felt pretty good when I went to bed - almost hopeful.

Will let you know how it goes - still have thermal on the back burner.
