The guy said its a bed bug....[a: no. Cockroach]
(11 posts)-
But I don't think it is, really I don't. The only reason I'm concerned is that a close friend recently had bed bugs, but we've been very careful about it. That being said, I had thoroughly checked all beds and clothes etc. every single day since we learned that they had bed bugs. Recently I started finding these bugs, but not in the "typical" bed bug places. I've found five total, only one of them being at night, and none of them anywhere near furniture or the like, and we have wood floors. Three of them were found on said wood floor, one on top of a movie shelf, and one randomly perched on the front of my kitchen cabinet. No ones been bit, but I'm getting extremely paranoid, and I'm itching everywhere just thinking about it. So if someone could lend their advice, I'd be eternally grateful....

I don't know if I feel better or worse lol.You should feel a *lot* better and so should your checkbook. You'd be surprised though how often people post about experiences where PCOs have falsely identified a specimen as a bed bug. It's hard to know whether it's dishonestly in an effort to sell unneeded extermination services or just incompetence.

Bad bug guy. Very bad.

Obvious cockroach. Antennae not bed bug, head not bed bug, body not bed bug, legs not bed bug. Small pointed things (one pointed, one broken) on rear of body are cerci and are quite characteristic for it being a cockroach. But I have to know where you live because of the cockroach. Just a curious entomologist.;)

Feel better...(and please answer Lou Bugs question)...I had german cockroaches in college and they were tough to get rid of..but not expensive...key thing is to make sure you clean, clean, clean...no water..no food sources...I kept cereal in the fridge in bell jars, etc....
We had a good PCO and he showed me to wipe around the fridge a lot...pull it out...wipe the plastic part between the doors (the seal)...the love crumbs...so that was something I did every other day...I kept less food at home and cut back on cooking until it was resolved...didn't take that long if they aren't at the neighbors (or coming from the neighbors)...
