Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » Introductions
Thank God for this forum (well, thank YOU all)

I am new at this but already distressed, despondent, depressed, anxious, scared and terrified. Not to mention a little itchy. Too much info on the internet, some is contradictory. But reading your forum and being able to search out my dilemas and see how others deal with issues like telling the boss, (as well as having a source of practical info at this site that seems reliable), this really helps me to take a deep breath and lower my panic a notch or two. Unfortunately, it seems for everything I am doing right, I guess I am doing something else wrong. I washed & dried clothes & towels & sheets, etc and put lots of my stuff thru the dryer, however, although I am keeping it all out of the infested bedroom, it turns our I was supposed to bag everything. I haven't been able to sleep in my bed (and rarely enter my bedroom) since I found a moving BB larvae (which confimred my suspicions), and I lined the bedroom doorway with DE and vaseline so the bugs wont come looking for me, and now I find you advise me to remain in the bed, as I may be spreading them all over the house now (despite daily showers and clean clothes and constant self-examination.) I don't feel I can bring myself to get back in that bed. So some things on your site increase the despondency I already feel, but other things I read give me hope that I wont have to live with this plague for the rest of my life. It is the first place that I found any hope. and although this is not a community that I want to be eligible for, I am glad to find people who understand and support each other through this horrendous ordeal. Thank you thank you thank you.

I am in your exact situation and I'm still bagging everything, preparing for my first treatment this week.
Trust me when I say, your best bet is to stay in your bed. That way, when the pesticides are laid down, the bugs will cross it in attempt to get to you and they'll die. If you keep moving rooms, they'll just follow searching for the blood they crave, thus spreading them around.
I'm on Seroquel for Bipolar Disorder and I'm taking that, plus an motion sickness pill every night just to sleep (note: I DONT advocate self-medicating, unless under the eye of a doctor) and it's difficult, but I tell myself that by not spreading them any further (mom brought them in, and they began in the living room, somehow moving to my room) I'm making treatment a lot easier.
Keep telling yourself that you likely slept with them for awhile before noticing the infestation and it won't hurt you to sleep there now. While the bites and welts are awful, it will only get better from here--the worst seems to be before treatment even begins.
Hang in there, goin buggy, and remember we're all here for you (and one another). :]

goin buggy,
Glad you found us!
You might find it easier to start with the FAQs as all the conflicting advice on the forums can be hard to wade through -- people will do different things based on various factors.
