As I pounded the pavement this morning, I wondered, what does pressure of foot in shoe, plus shock of walking do for any BBs and/or eggs that may be along for the ride?

Interesting question and a cute picture! Can you squish an egg? I thought the only thing that kills the eggs is heat, or possibly some creature eating them?

Speaking from experience (how sad), two bedbugs were comfortably going along for the walk by residing in the outer crease where the upper shoe attaches to the sole. We were horrified to find & kill two healthy/well fed bed bugs on my husband's Keens. This was at the height of our infestation. We now keep all shoes in plastic bins with DE. Haven't seen a bedbug in over a month. Yea!!!!! Scary thought is how many places those 2 bedbugs visited on my hubby's shoes :(

You can pop an egg with enough pressure.

Diatomaceous earth. Search the forums for both the full name and the acronym. Best of luck, but read up on this stuff carefully before going down that path.
