I stayed in a sublet over the summer while I was studying for the bar. Unfortunately, the place I stayed in had bed bugs, and I brought them back with me to my regular apartment. We didn't discover this until one month before were supposed to move for good for my new job. This meant that conventional treatments weren't an option if we wanted to get rid of the bugs before we moved. As a result, we opted to have thermal treatment on the house, and vikane treatment on the car (which was also infested). This was in late July, and we have seen no signs of bed bugs since that time. It was done through Connor's Pest Control in Virginia, and they did a good job with the treatment.
But this brings me to the free TV offer. While we were subletting the apartment, we purchased a new 32" LCD TV. We used it for about a month. We then put it in a storage unit, and were going to retrieve it once we moved into our permanent place. As a result, it was in the bed-buggy sublet, but was not in our regular apartment when it was thermal treated. It has now been sitting in a storage unit for the past six months. I don't know whether this TV ever got bed bugs. It was in the living room of the sublet, and I don't know if the bed bugs ever left the bedroom. It has also been sitting in a non-climate controlled storage unit for the past six months, which have included some very cold days. Nonetheless, it's not worth the risk to me. I spent a lot of money to get rid of bed bugs, and I have had a lot of sleepless nights wondering whether or not it worked. Now that I'm confident the bed bugs are gone, there is no way I am bringing that TV back into my house. I was going to just throw it out. But it occurred to me that if there is anyone who currently has bed bugs, and who has not yet got treatment, they could have the TV, and then it would get treated along with the rest of their stuff. It's a good TV, and hardly used. It cost $500 when we bought it in July.
If anyone wants it, they can have it, so long as they are willing to come pick it up. It's in a storage unit in West Chester, PA, about 30 miles west of Philadelphia. Please let me know if you have any interest, otherwise, I'm just going to take it to the dump.
