Hello. I've been lurking on the forums recently. This is my first post.

So about two weeks ago I started seeing red welts on my arms when I wake up. My wife had some on her arms too. They seem consistent with the description of bed bug bites. Not knowing what it might be, we washed our sheets. That didn't help, as the bites came back.

I thought it might be bed bugs, so I freaked out and washed all our sheets, and then encased our mattress (we had to use tape to seal up holes because we have a sleep number bed). My wife bought a bed bug spray (Rest Easy, supposedly natural). That didn't help either, and the bites came back.

I freaked out again, and proceeded to wash our sheets again, vacuumed the whole room, took apart our bed frame, sprayed more Rest Easy, and in the process moved some stuff from under our bed (from what I've read here, probably not a good idea). It seemed to help a little, since I started wearing long sleeves to sleep, and we got less bites, and the bites seems to be smaller for some reason, at least for me.

After several restless nights I finally ordered some ClimbUps, and while I was waiting to get them I put the bed legs in ziploc containers coated with Vaseline. That seemed to have stopped the bites. We haven't been bitten for four nights now, and last night I installed the ClimbUps and caught nothing but a spider.

This whole time, I've seen no evidence of BBs -- no stains, no skins, no bugs that I can identify (caught quite a few other bugs but none of them really look like BBs). What's stressful is that I can't confirm that it's BBs, and that I don't want to spread it to other parts of our place, or to our friends' houses, and I certainly don't want to take them to our new place when we move in about 2 months. I've read about PCOs on this site, and it seems like the quality you get can be inconsistent, and I'm concerned about the treatment methods and their potential effects on humans. I haven't told my LL yet cause I'm afraid he's going to get some random PCO who knows nothing.

Help! I don't know what to do: I can't confirm them, and I'm concerned about my treatment options! Anyone know of a good, honest PCO with safe treatment methods in the SoCal area?

    I think I'm going crazy.
