Does anybody know why the manufacturers of Temprid SC and Transport GHP both recommend the lowest concentrated mixed strength of their product for use against bed bugs? It seems odd since bed bugs are notoriously difficult to eradicate and both products endorse more concentrated mixed strength of their products for use against other pests in situations with large pest populations? I only ask because I have formulated these products according to label instruction when I've used them but others on this forum seem to have success using the higher concentrations of mixed product on their infestations? I appreciate any insight!

Ok. Did you find out what the reason was?

    The response from Bayer:

    Dear Scott:

Thank you for visiting our website and your inquiry to Bayer Environmental Science.

We cannot recommend exceeding the application rate of 0.075% - 0.27 fl oz (8 milliliters) of Temprid
SC Insecticide per gal of water, as our product label does not indicate application rate over that amount when treating bedbugs.

Prior to sale in the Consumer Business, just like in Crop Protection, all products introduced to the market are the result of years of testing to ensure they meet strict human and environmental standards required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), applicators and stakeholders. The results of these tests and research are submitted to the EPA for review and ultimately, EPA registration.

However, according to EPA mandate, applying the product at a rate of higher then 8 milliliters, when treating for bedbugs would require further extensive research and submission to EPA in order for the application to be included on the label. Consequently, applying the product at a rate of higher then 8 milliliters, when treating for bedbugs would be considered an off label application since no instructions appear on the product label.

Should you have additional questions please feel free to contact us again at 800-331-2867. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm CST.

    Thank you,

    Tommie Sumpter
