Anyone know the percent alcohol in sterifab? My PCO used it as their contact killer (in addition to steam)....so I was thinking of just mixing a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and water as a spray on contact killer (we dont smoke) for any I see.....we just had been treated by our PCO (Orkin) yesterday and can still smell the alcohol lol.....

nevermind, sterifab actually posts their MSDS on their website and says its about 60.39% ISOPROPANOL (isopropyl ie. rubbing alcohol)

I'm scratching my head about Steri-Fab's MSDS. The MSDS indicates that the only hazardous substance is 60% isopropyl (weaker than the cheap stuff at CVS). But there's more. Here's the EPA "label":

    ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:
    0.22% D-CIS TRANS PHENOTHRIN (3-PHENOXYBENZYL D-CIS AND TRANS * *2.2-DIMETHYL-3-
    (2-METHYLPROPENYL) CYCLOPROPANECARBOXYLATE) CIS/TRANS ISOMER RATION: MAX .25%(+OR-) CIS MIN .75% (+OR -) TRANS
    60.39% ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL
    0.114% DIDECYL DIMETHYL AMMONIUM CHLORIDE
    0.076% N-ALKYL (C14 50%,C12 40%, C16 10%) DIMETHYL BENZYL AMMONIUM CHLORIDE
    39.20% INERT INGREDIENTS:

Is it that the items not on the MSDS are not hazardous or that "EPA" ingredients need to be covered separately?

I think the EPA has to list everything toxic to anything whereas the MSDS has to list things toxic to human....like the first chemical is a PHENOTHRIN which is used in insecticides. thats just my take on it

91% isopropyl alcohol is a contact killer. DO NOT add water. And use caution!

drugstores often carry it. First aid section, rubbing alcohol. Typically has a red label. You might need to ask. Or, there may be places where it's not legal, for whatever reason.

In California, Walgreen's carries 91% alcohol. Otherwise, we had trouble finding it in our area. Costco only had 70%.
