Could anyone advise me on how to clean the DE off the sofa?

I believe that you can vacuum it but you need a vacuum with a hepa filter and you should wear a respirator mask and goggles when working with DE as it can get up into the air. Not an expert - someone will probably respond to you in the morning

I am also not an expert, but would definitely not advise doing anything without a full respirator mask (and the goggles sound right also).

Note: we're also told DE may damage vacuums.

I hope some experts will weigh in on this.
