Hi,

I recently noticed that my sheets have black stains, some are dots and some are smeared... Pictures can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/84842686@N03/

I checked the seams of my mattress and have found nothing. I also have no unique bites - I am in camp for the summer, so I have some mosquito bites, but nothing to make me think that these bites are any different than normal.

Please help!

They don't look like fecal traces from bed bugs. Are you on a pullout sofa? Could be from the metal frame or from the springs. You see these marks when the sheet rubs against the metal.

Could also be from the dryer as I have seen these types of marks from sheets binding up in the drum of the dryer.

Thank you very much for your response. I am in camp, using a wooden/metal bedframe and a cloth mattress. I felt around the metal area of the frame and didn't get any ink-like dirt, although the dirt only really appears at the head and foot of the sheets.

If it was the drier, wouldn't other clothes also affected?

Lastly, I live in a bunk with four other people. Is it possible that only my bed would be affected?

Is this anywhere near your pillow and do you wear mascara? That sounds like a dumb question but these stains look like my pillowcase does in the mornign if I don't take off my eye makeup! I guess I dont' know if you're a guy or a girl (or if you're either why you would be bothering with mascara at camp). Just a thought though. These makeup stains also don't come out of my sheets well at all. So are you all getting sheets from the same place?
