I have a close friend who also happens to be my dermatologist. Besides a cortisone cream he had prescribed (do not bother with the over the counter versions they are not strong enough to use for the bites) he recommended I try using Hibiclens. It's an antiseptic/antimicrobial skin cleanser.

It's available at any pharmacy and is off the shelf (non prescription). I started using it a few days ago and while I can still see the bites they have gotten much lighter and smaller and seem less itchy.

As with anything it may work for some but not others. Just use it when showering after you have used your soap and then rinse off before getting out of the shower.

Thought I'd share with you all as it has helped in my case.

I had good results with Caladryl lotion (topical Benedryl + clear Calamine)... I also found that an aloe vera sunburn lotion with Benzacaine really helped with the itching.
