Some advice from you all
(8 posts)-
Ok so I just found out the other day that I need to go in for surgery. It is set up for the 28th of this month. At least now I know why I haven't been feeling so hot lately (I thought it was the ongoing bed bug ordeal wearing me down). It's not life threatening but I will be laid up for a potential 4 weeks (at least 4 to 6 days of being bed ridden). Naturally in todays economy it is being done on an outpatient basis.
I am not giving up my fight with the LL and this ongoing dispute but it will have to be put on hold. I am not up to fighting with him and going through this at the same time.
I will be abandoning my place. I think that laying in bed with a healing wound from the surgery for possibly a week would be like an "all you can eat" buffet to the bed bugs and I wouldn't even be able to run for 7 days without fear of ripping open the surgery wound.
I have made arraingments to stay elsewhere for 3 weeks.
Am I wrong on this or am I doing the right thing by leaving until I am healed some?
I may not be online for a few weeks after the 28th so wishing you all well in your battle with the BB's.
The only saving grace(s) in this is that I will get out of here for a while - feel better when it's over and be closer to the end of my lease when I return!

I wish you the best, and I am sorry to hear that this is happening to you. At this point, you need to do what is best for you and your soon to be healing body. I am sure that you are going to take every feasible precaution as to not take the bugs with you where you go, so I am not going to get into a big long production number on that one. I just hope you have a speedy recovery and that your ordeal will be next to over when you return.

I'm a newbie, but I certainly think like completelybuggedout -- you have to come first here, and that means no buffet for the bedbugs. Best of luck with your surgery, and with the eradication of the bug when you are back in fighting form.

completelybugged I will be taking nothing with from my place except for the clothes on my back - which will come directly from a ziploc bag right after I shower and then it's out the door.
Anything I need I will purchase at the store before the surgery. Fortunately I already have clothing shoes and a few other things at my partners. I wanted to reduce the risk of my taking them to his place so ended up buying clothes and shoes and toiletries just for his place.

IBB,
I'm sorry to hear you're not well, all our thoughts are with you.By all means nobody should be sick in bed and have to worry about bb's!All my thoughts and well wishes for a speedy recovery!Keep us posted as to how you're doing after surgery once you're feeling better.Good luck -
Wishing you all the best with your surgery and do try to relax while away from the bugs. Get well soon and let us know how you are doing later.

I don't think you'd recover very well from surgery lying in your buggy bed. If you have the opportunity to recuperate out of home, all the best. (I would expect you're fully recovered, physically and mentally, when we never hear from you again! Hope all goes well.)
