    Here's the deal.

A month ago, I experienced a flair up of what looked like pimples (and hurt like them, too) on my inner arm (I looked like a drug addict fo sho... we can still laugh, right? No, not really). They did not itch, but were very painful and fluid-filled. We're talking 10-15 or so. After seeing my dermatologist, he felt it was a reaction to dust mites. Well, I've reacted to those before and they look more like mosquito bites and go away as soon as you shower.

Around the same time, mind you, I had a horrible air cleaning service come in and "clean" my vents (asthmatics and eczema sufferers live here).

Shut the air vents off - the marks slowed dramatically. Did they stop? For about a week or so, but they came back, just not as many. 3 weeks later, I pay a pest control company with a great BB rep to come in and search - bedrooms and leather sofa (although they said it's rare for them to live in leather sofas... are they full of it?). They found absolutely NOTHING. NOT EVEN A HINT of black specs/bugs/casts. Because of this site (and thank you again), I did NOT dust, vacuum, or change sheets prior to their arrival. I wanted them to see everything in it's glory of "uncleanliness" for a week (mind you, we do not have clutter so every area was extremely accesible). They complimented my mattress as it is only two years old and told me that it is so white and clean, they would surely see something. They said the headboard looked great. By that time, I had already purchased very high quality mattress/box spring covers. They told me NOT to return them and still use them. They said I had a great mattress, and I should be protecting it anyway, and if they needed to come check again, it would be helpful to their eyes.

Of course, they warmed me... "Sometimes we won't find something right away." I was with them the entire time. They were very thorough, so this news was disheartening.

It's been 2.5 weeks since that visit and 4 nights since a bite. Last night while watching a movie, the pain set in - 3 on my inner arm and 1 on my finger. Near tears, I flipped the sofa upside down, picked up every piece of dirt and a five dead bugs to Ziplock (by the way, 3 had wings, 1 was a millipede, 1 was a lady bug... but I saved them anyway because I am insane at this point). I vacuumed the couch and search the dyson contents. YEAH LOSING MY MIND. There is nothing.

So, in a month, I've had probably 40 bites total (always on the inner arms or around my belly button - long sleeves or not).

    Other facts that may help:
    - I have a baby. I breastfeed. These areas are where I hold her. I would love believe it's a disease we can cure, but it doesn't make sense if I get them without her... And she doesn't have them at all! She does have severe eczema, though.
-My husband had 1 occurrence of these painful pimple bites (3 on his inner arm, too) which stopped for him as soon as the heat was turned off. The heat was not on last night, however, and I still got them.
-We live in a house, not an apartment.
-I have no intention of handling this myself. As per your "do's and don'ts," I am will to pay for a great exterminator.

Side note, is there a medical test for arthropod bites?

Also, bought the Bug Beacon today along with a Pack Tite. Honestly, if I don't get anything with the Beacon, how "at ease" should I feel? Don't worry. I bought the refills, too. We can do this for WEEKS.

Aaaaand, after the drama of last night, I went to bed in a tank that basically said, COME AND GET IT.

    Yeah, nothing came.
