So scared...possible exposure on vacation second time and found suspicious bug
(2 posts)-
Please, anyone that can help...we had a full blown infestation two summers ago that we brought back from vacation and went on for a couple months before we figured out what was going on because we had NO IDEA that bed bugs even existed and had no idea what was goin on. We spent thousands on chemical and eventually heat treatment that eventually did get rid of them ( thank God because I almost lost it with two small children). Anyway, we have become very educated and continue to travel with all recommended precautions because we refuse to let it keep us from our passion. I do still get paranoid upon arriving home though, and this causes probs between my husband and I because it never affected him to the extreme it did me (SEVERE DEPRESSION, no sleep etc). We just returned from a week long beach vacation and I had a few bites on my neck as well as my daughter having one on her face, but we checked the condo daily and saw no signs. Took all precautions upon arriving home but did see a bug crawling on my arm after coming in from the garage after moving some tied off bags around. I could kick myself, but my instant reaction was to fling it off as soon as I felt it!! All I know is that it was brown and crawling on my arm...what are the chances it hitchhiked on my flip flop from being in the garage for maybe less than 5 min and also being exposed twice in 3 yrs at diff places?? Also, today I found a dead bug about the same size as adult bed bug but was fairly translucent on the living room rug...I've seen adults but can they lighten in color upon heating in dryer or can they be that lightly colored (straw) at adult stages?? I'm TERRIFIED an don't l know what I should do?! I have a pic but dont know how to post it?? Thanks in advance to anyone that can help. I feel like if this is happening again I might not know how to make it through.

PLEASE, any responses or advice would be greatly appreciated, The dead bug I found is the size of an adult bed bug, but very light in color...what are the odds of this? The ones I saw in our last infestation were darker in color. Can heat or lack of feeding make an adult more like a straw color?? I have no idea how to post the pic. Also, with no visible signs of fecal, blood etc on any of the beds/walls/furniture etc in the condo...what are the odds of bringing something back for a second time in the last three years at completely different places?? Are we doomed??!!
