Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » Bed Bug Treatment
slap on the wrist?

I had my first bedbug treatment today and it made me mad (whether I have the right to be mad or not, I'll find out soon). I wasn't here to attend the PCO (from Terminix), my father was. Apparently, the guy only did his thing for half an hour .. for two rooms! That means he spent only 15 mins. in each bedroom (I doubt he bothered with the other rooms in my apartment). I find it very doubtful that he'd be able to spray three mattresses and three boxsprings, plus all the cracks and other things he should have paid attention to in that short amount of time. The PCO said we couldn't go into the apartment until a couple of hours after he was done because of the smell. I thought he should have spent all that time doing his job instead of just letting the apartment freaking air out? I came back a few hours later and thankfully I think he did do something to the beds somewhat. He left a few sprays of Pro-Control Plus lying around, guess he wants us to use them (bedbugs are not included in the list of insects it kills but I could be wrong). He also mentioned to my father that he might be returning in a week (if he said other things, I do not know, and my father is not fluent in English so he is not the most reliable source).
Questions:
1) How long is a treatment supposed to take?
2) How much does each treatment cost? I read on this site that you get what you pay for .. my landlord paid $225. But I wasn't there when he and the PCO made a payment plan so I don't know if they have a contract or anything.
3) Isn't a treatment after just one week too soon? I thought it takes about two weeks for new bedbug eggs to hatch.
4) Is Pro-Control Plus effective against bedbugs? Thanks for your help!

I would ask about the pro control plus on Sean's thebedbugresource.com. It's run by PCOs who will know more about pesticide. Let us know what you find out, also.
Is this the only item they used?
Treatment times can vary. 1/2 hour does not seem great but you may be able to start killing bed bugs with this. Follow-up is crucial and I would speak to the MANAGER (if your landlord can authorize you to?) about this, or the tech next time, if the landlord won't let you get involved.
Did you ask if he sprayed the mattress? You can call and ask. They should have left a list of what was used.
