I'm thinking of buying a 6" thick memory foam mattress.
The encasements I've seen say they fit 6-10" mattresses.
    Will they be loose?
Will looseness be a good hiding place for bbs?
I found bbs in the folds of my sheets so that's why I'm concerned with anything loose.

    I am NOT an expert.
My opinions are just opinions, they may NOT apply to yours or any situation.
My advice is to always do a LOT of research.

I went through the same thing. If it says it will fit 6" to 10" it means it will fit 6" and stretch up to 10". It should be ok.

The aller-ease one does not stretch (they recommend tucking in the extra material).
I think the protect-a-bed ones stretch but I got conflicting answers (and the manufacturer was not helpful).

    What brand did you buy?

Stretching seems like something manufacturers should advertise.

saferest does not fit tightly on a 6" mattress, it fits tight on a 9" mattress but is loose on a 6".
    Most seem to be loose.

Restguard. I checked with the company first and they told me they stretch 2". I bought the 9" and it stretched to fit the 10" mattress I had at the time. It might have been a tad loose on 6" mattress, but not hugely.

They have a 7" that would presumably stretch on an 8" mattress.
I don't want one that doesn't fit snuggly (a lot seem to be 10" but say they fit 6" mattresses (presumably loose)).
They are not cheap so I want top buy right the first time.

What's the zipper like on the restguard?
