Has anyone had any success stories of self-treatment with DE? I had/have a very minor infestation (I think) in that I had an infested wardrobe from the street in my bedroom for 10 days. A few must have settled elsewhere, but I found one harbourage and sucked them up with a Eureka 71b portable vacuum, which has an excellent high setting and crack extension. I suspect others are lurking in the cardboard of the boxes (I know) under my bed, but the bedroom is tiny (7x14') and I hope to draw the rest of them out and drag them through DE, freshwater of course. No cracks in the floor (wall-to-wall plywood, caulked), wall to neighbouring apartment already caulked (thank God). I have killed three so far with DE sprinkled around the bed legs, no bites yesterday, one the day before, none the two days before, etc. A week ago I was getting around 4-5 bites per night. So I think I am advancing okay, right? Just gotta wait for the next generation to crawl out and try to find me (using self as bait). Wd love to get support from anyone who's done this successfully in a similar way. Or get advice from people that have tried: even if it didn't work, why not?
