Even though the PCO was here on Friday and put some treatment down, the bites have no ceased still. I have more bites now than I did before treatment. Checked the other half's pillow case tonight after my shower and had a feeling I would find new blood stains. I hate to say something and jinx myself but so far they only appear on his side of the bed (blood stains).

I would like to be the first person to design, build, and own a "self heating home", modeled after the "self cleaning over" that would incorporate a house-wide heating system. This would be much like a central air conditioning unit but designed instead to effectively heat the home evenly from the walls out to a controlled 140F. It would work very much in the way thermal remediation works, but from the inside out by means of a built in system designed to evenly distribute a convection type heat throughout the home.

My home will also of course have a "middle room" on the property that is detached and about 10 yds away. This will be a bug-tight shelter of sorts that contains a high power washer and dryer where I can change before going into the main house. This building will also be connected to the self-heating unit so as to be used as a space for heat-treating items like furniture or just for treating the space.

Here's something that perhaps can pique your imagination...the Vancouver BB Sauna

Please give yourself credit for what you've already done. Keep reading up (that Michigan manual, please) on how to do it better. Don't fret over every last bug right now. Find what helps relieve your symptoms (different for everyone, Benadryl worked for me). Treat yourself and your loved one extra special. Hug more intensely. Savor the coffee or the warm/cold air outside, or a good piece of pastry. You will get through this. We have your back.

    Ci,

I don't know you but that was a great reminder of what is important.

    Victimized,

I LOVE this idea. Can I add that the house should also have heated floors?

This is something that has come up before, it is of course a wonderful idea. We were glad to see the Vancouver building put in place even one room.

Oh please, I am SO sick and tired of baseboard heater covers and duct work and want not.. of course it will have heated floors! I was even thinking solid walls with a system of electrical that runs through tubing that way there is no cavity in the wall leading to goodness knows where with a patented pest-barrier electrical box. The wires attach ont he back and the inside of the box is entirely one-piece and closed with a lip that extends along the outside of the interior wall so you can create a nice tight seal along the edges. If there were a problem, the pests would only be able to get in as far ast he box itself and not beyond that. The tubing in which the wiring runs through could act in a similar way, leading only to other openings within the house.

The solid walls may go partially up or all the way in that nothing can live within the walls. There is already insulation out there like this. Bugs can't penetrate a nice tight concrete or cinder block wall. In school, the electrical runs through piping that attaches to the outside of the wall only so not cavities. This would not be very attractive in a home though unless it was designed to be.

Cats, pudding, fresh clean clothes, ebay auctions... these are the things we need.
