Seagulls and Bed Bugs? I missed the connection
(4 posts)-
If anyone could elaborate, we DO have seagulls that come around on the roof in the summer? What's the connection? Thank you.

Hi,
I could see a connection between seagulls and bird mites but not bed bugs.
They are different species that are transferred and transmitted in very different ways.
What makes you post asking about any connections.

That was probably me.
In a post yesterday (I should so know not to post when I'm in grading hell), I mentioned that the hotel at which I suspect I picked up bed bugs had a seagull problem.
I had thought that perhaps seagulls could have provided an easy non human source for bed bugs.
In other words, blame me.

Thanks buggyinsocial, and you too David. You both saved me from possibly making a spectacle of myself hanging shiny mobiles up on the roof (for which there isn't actually "access.") I can just hear them now..."there's that crazy bug lady up on the roof...she's finally flipped out completely..."
Actually some of the young "hipsters" in this building had some pretty positive things to say about "the biggest ziplocks" they'd ever seen, and what they'd like to fill 'em with. They're so funny...those young folks. : )
It's Portland, what can you say.
Hey, p.s., if you are flipping out right now because of these bitey u-know-whats...hang in there, sleep is the key to gaining your sanity back, and trust me mine is just visiting right now. Take care. see............i made a little joke up there..couldn't do that two months ago when NOTHING was remotely humorous, every meal out with my son was me in tears, and my stress level a 11 on the Richter scale...yes worse than the Northridge earthquake of, er, a long time ago. It precarious, but it gets better...but it takes time. Thanks to all who share so generously even in their troubled times. And I'm really working on my punctuation dear moderator.
