Riddle me this ... nymphs without bites?
(4 posts)-
Hi there, longtime reader, first time poster.
Timeline: Got bed bugs in the middle of August, realized what they were and had a chemical PCO treatment at the end of August, discovered more bites in late September, had another treatment and installed climbUps under my bed posts. Found rusty nymphs (small but still recognizable) in the climbUps, had two more treatments at two week intervals. The last treatment was around Nov 7, over a month ago. I haven't had any more obvious bites, just some non-specific itching. However! I'm still finding tiny tiny gray insects that I'm assuming are nymphs (they are really small and hard to see much detail on, even with a magnifying glass) in my climbUps.
My question is, is it possible to be detecting nymphs for so long and not have bites? I mean, back in August it seemed like my bug population (judging from my bites) grew pretty fast ... and if they are nymphs ... but I'm not getting bites ... then after so many treatments where the #$@% could they be coming from?
Thanks for your help!

Any way to post a pic? Are you sure they are not booklouse?

Did you ever confirm they were Bed Bugs to begin with?

All kinds of insects bite in August.Yes, I had classic track bites and found a dead adult (And several er, plump live ones) while preparing for the first treatment. No doubt about it, they were there.
Anyway, during this last week I managed to procure the proper tools to photograph the tiny bugs in question (now jerky, after being baked by my trusty packtite). Here they are at the bottom of one of my climbups (where they randomly appear without really indicating a direction - these two are the only pair I've ever seen)

Close-up of right bugThese show way more detail than I could previously see. To me, they definitely look bed buggy (and red - couldn't see that before either). So I guess I have my answer. Sigh.
The fact that they've persisted for so long (despite my belongings being bagged up or baked for close to 4 months) leads me to believe the building is infested. My lease is up soon ... me thinks I'll be moving (with the aid of some vikane vaults, of course). Wish me luck.
