Not sure if this goes here or in success stories, if someone thinks it should be move than feel free
So I am going to do a few reviews here of companies I talked to and used:
Terminex -- gave a estimate over the phone -- and offered free inspection
I did not use them just was happy that I got an idea of cost.
Orkin -- Charges a $95 inspection fee
did not use them either, just not impressed with charging to inspect.
etc... -- A large number of companies in the phone book did not return my call.
Presidental -- did not seem at all interested in the BB business, but did reccommend I find someone that offered heat treatmentThanks to a trusted board member I was pointed to this company!
LR Pest (Vermont) -
When I called and said I had bb - the lady said she would have their specialist call me back --completely love that they have a specialist in bb.
He called me back rather quickly and...
Suggested I use bb dog to determine where treatment was needed (they were not affiliated with the dog)
Was willing to come in on the weekend so we could get the problem treated fast (unfortunately I missed that call because I was at work)
Came in and was very knowledgeable - from the moment he came in you could tell he was planning how he was going to tackle this problem and was filling me in on his ideas.
so then came the time of telling me the cost...it was double what terminex had said (although the treatments of each company is not the same) I told him I was not going to be able to afford that and he asked where my phone book was and sat down with me and told who he would suggest (because he was pretty far away he thought someone closer would be able to do the work cheaper). When I told him I had called most and not got answers or they could not help - he came up with another plan for me to diy. I asked him to leave the appointment in place until the morning and he said he would and thank goodness I have family that was able to help me.I got all the prep sheets by email and started prepping the house - not too much to do except remove all combustibles. They (bb specialist and his team) came in heated the entire upstairs of my home, chemically treated my entire house and guaranteed the work for 30 days. A short 8 hours later we were back in our now bb free home.
33 days later and no signs of bb's.

Hi-- I moved it to success stories, because people tend to read those systematically, and i wanted them to find it. But people searching for Vermont or local PCOs should find it via tags or the search function.
I hope that is the last of your troubles with bed bugs, but please do come back and update this thread in a few months' time to let us know you're still
clear! -
Thanks...I tend to lurk here anyways and ask random bug questions
But I will update officially in a few months.
-
Great! Thanks! Success stories mean a lot to people who come along later.

Well I figured I would give another update since I was thinking about it (ya I do randomly think of bed bugs).
60 days and all is still clear in our house! Still very pleased and hoping I do not run into those bugs ever again.

Bravo! Enjoy yourself, vermontbedbugs. I bet the weather's nice in Vermont right now...
-
Oh the weather is beautiful!! I am not looking forward to the snow.

Made it to the 90 day (and beyond) mark and still free of bed bugs
I think I am done updating this post now! Hoping I don't have to deal with them again...EVER.
