Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » Bed Bug Treatment
return of bedbugs
(6 posts)-
I had a commercial treatment back in early Nov. 2010. I've seen a few nymphs since then but nothing major. I keep looking in tight areas for infestation and yet to see any. Yesterday I killed two larger bugs full of blood yet not sure if they were full adults. I grabbed two cans of Bedlam and went to town on the wall were they were spotted next to the bed, the crevices of the bed frame, the base board, and in a wide area of the carpet surrounding the bed I already have a bed bug proof cover on my mattress. I did some looking around and could not find any tight areas were they can fester.
I'm in a wheelchair so going through the daunting process to prepare my apartment for commercial treatment again is overwhelming. I hadn't seen any bugs including nymphs in over a month. I also have not seen them in any other area this time.
I hope the Bedlam does the trick because the pretreatment regiment to have the PCO come back is so emotionally and physically overwhelming. Up until just a few days ago had not seen any including nymphs in over a month. Does what I've done so far seem like a good measure?

PDX, BB can be scary, but we have tools that can help you feel more empowered. Read this site's FAQ. Then browse the Resources section and please, please, please read the "Michigan Guide". http://www.michigan.gov/documents/emergingdiseases/Bed_Bug_Manual_v1_full_reduce_326605_7.pdf Whether you're treating yourself or working with a pro, I believe it's essential reading.
Best of luck with both the BB and the surgery. -
wow 118 pages for the document and I feel I've already done so much reading already since they first hit this fall. Though I do appreciate the link. I just want to wake up and have it be a bad dream. I'm just too exhausted to look over it tonight.

bb in Portland?,
Hi, welcome.
I am so sorry to hear you are facing these in a wheelchair. These can be particularly nasty creatures for people who wear or regularly use medical or aid devices as they can infest these as well, and often do. Is your wheelchair treated regularly with contact killer like 91% isoprpyl alcohol or Kleen Free and are the screwholes dusted with something like diatomaceous earth? It may be worth your while if they are biting during the day to see what kind of treatment you can have for your wheelchair that doesn't require you sit in chemicals all day.
Good luck to you-

I've found the areas of my chair that gets infested with the bugs from my prior bout.. There is a large area of Velcro that holds the upholstery together and I keep inspecting them for any signs of them. I've had to take all the upholstery off and run it through the dryer, Then used Bedlam on the Velcro that can't be removed from the chair So far there has been no evidence of re-infestation of my chair itself.
