I've got a lovely bedbug problem in my apartment in Philly. It's grown serious enough that my roommates are moving out. I just arrived home from a month abroad, and I'm trying to decide whether to deal with this or leave the apartment.

Can anyone share experiences with PCOs in the Philly area? And, are Philly landlords legally obligated to arrange and pay for bedbug extermination?

    Thanks so much!

Landlords are not legally binded to pay for an exterminator in Philadelphia, but they often will because of the threat of them spreading to the other tenants. I would talk to your landlord about getting a pest control program to try and prevent future problems. Having a second set of eyes on the premises every month or so can give early recognition before it becomes a bigger problem.

    Dear Lizziefur,

I am writing from a documentary production company based in New York. A national cable network has recently commissioned us to create a one hour project all about Bed Bugs.

The aim of this program is to investigate the current resurgence in the bed bug population all over the United States. Obviously these bugs have caused quite a stir in the in the media over the last few years. We intend to examine the situation across the country by talking to scientists and sufferers about how bad is it, why this has happened and what to do. To underscore how disruptive bed bugs can be, we want to anchor the hour in personal narratives. We want to hear from people who’s lives have been turned upside down by these bugs. I know people are often reluctant to talk about their bed bug problems. But hopefully there are some sufferers who see the benefits of talking about the issue. The more the public understands how devastating an infestation could be, perhaps the more focused everyone will become on prevention and solutions.

We are looking to be in Philadelphia to cover some segments for this story. I am wondering if you have any interest in talking to us about what happened to you. If so you can contact me at bedbugs@optomenusa.com

    Many thanks,

    Alexis

    Alexis,

In future, please do not post your recruitment ads for your documentary on threads which are about another topic.

Out of curiosity, are you from the same production company as puja.seth?

If so, why are you BOTH posting on the forums today?
