Rebates on pillow covers, encasements at BB&B right now
(6 posts)-
BTW, I was at Bed Bath & Beyond last night, and they have a mail-in rebate on their CleanRest mattress and pillow encasements. It's $15 back on the mattress and $5 back on the pillow covers. And remember also that they'll accept even expired BB&B coupons, as well as (unexpired) Linens 'n' Things coupons. So if you can manage to dig up a couple of 20% off coupons, it makes the price of a nice encasement slightly more bearable.
I'm not at home right now, but when I get back I'll look up how long the rebate runs for and post that. I think it's for purchases from now through October sometime.
BTW, does anyone make a bedbug-proof encasement for body pillows? Does anyone know? Mine's machine washable but I don't know if that will kill them. I'd hate to have to get rid of it. :(

For admin: The post showed up fine, then I edited to add a link to the BB&B site. I tried to use the STRIKE tag to cross out a few lines, and the A tag to add a link to the rebate info on the BB&B site. I'm not going to try to paste that again in case it was the problem, but you can find it by going to BB&B, bedding->mattress pads->mattress protectors, clicking through to one of the CleanRest protectors. There's a link called "Clean Rest Rebate by Mail".

wirehead,
It doesn't happen often, but it's the spam filter. I check it daily and will rescue the post. If you're concerned, you can private message me or email me.
You (and everyone else) should read the following two threads (which are also "green stickies" at the top of the main forums page.

As far as CleanRest is concerned, in recent tests of six different encasements (by five manufacturers), Rick Cooper found that first instar bed bugs were able to escape the CleanRest encasement's zipper end stop (the place where the zipper closes) when the zipper was fully closed.
Other encasements, such as Protect-a-bed, National Allergy Elegance, and MattressSafe fared much better. You will find links to these encasement comparison tests on our encasements page:

Yeah, I read that, but it's what I could find locally (didn't want to buy online due to wait time and the hassle of having it shipped to me), and was the high end of what I could afford, so that's what I went with. *shrugs* If I can save myself $30-$40 with a piece of tape, you bet I will.
Thanks for the clarification on the forum thing -- wasn't sure if I'd found a bug. A software one, this time. ;p

wirehead,
Just make sure the tape sticks and is always on. This is very tricky in most cases. It's fine if you can manage it.I understand the costs, believe me. I bought multiple cheap encasements before buying a better one. Some of those better encasements don't cost more than the one you were recommending, if people look around.
