Questions on bagging clothes?
(7 posts)-
Do you re-use the bags?
How long do you keep bagging clothes?
Also are there any pictures of the nymphs by themselves?

Is there anyone living in Europe on here that could give me advice for how to deal with this here? I live in Paris, France. Does anyone know a european website that sells mattress covers or drione or kleen free? I can't find anything...

I definitely re-use bags. Thery're not the most expensive part of the bed bug operation, but I can't always find them at the store and I get tired to driving over there.
I would guess that insecticides such as Drione will be sold, if at all, under some other name in Europe. Even simple over-the-counter medicines have different names outside the USA.
You might contact National Allergy directly to see if they have an affiliate or know a company in Europe. If they belong to a trade association, the association may be able to put you in touch.

crazy there was a young woman from Italy who was on here not too long ago. I recommended to her to phone the US Embassy, as they might be able to recommend an Exterminator. I would go into a Pet Store to begin with...Pet Stores sell enzyme based solutions to kill fleas and wash down kennels...also they may have a flea powder. Often the ingredients in these products are the same as in bed bug solutions. Obviously its best to use a CAPABLE exterminator but the young lady in Italy said that was hard to find....I think that the makers of Kleen Free would ship to you..but I dont' know about passing customs...So try an animal supply store and maybe ask a Veteranarian.....There is a man in London David Cain...he is an experienced PCO.....His email is somewhere on these forums...I ll look for it for you...You should probably phone him up...that would be the best ....There are lots of photos of nymphs...they are small and clear colored until the start to feed on blood..then they take on color...David Cain would probably know where to get mattress covers....Unfortunatley he works in London but I am certain that he can be of great help...Keep asking..Deb

crazy,
As far as your questions about clothing, we have a few FAQs which should cover those questions. Click the FAQs button. For photos of nymphs go to the blog (blog button below) and go to the links to photos on the right sidebar. Lou Sorkin's photos (linked) include photos of groups of bed bugs and single nymphs.
Most of what's in the FAQs will work for you and we havd added some alternate information (for example for those without dryers). NAtional Allergy ships overseas as far as I know but Bugalina is right they may also know a local company you can work with. You may not be able to buy resealable bags there, but trash bags sealed in an airtight way will work. (Buy ones made for contractors who do construction, since they will be stronger).
This was never meant to be a website for people in North America. This website is for anyone, anywhere, with bed bugs and the information comes from users of the site. I would love for people EVERYWHERE to share their local information. I hope that more will. Unfortunately, it's up to everyone to post their local information on the relevant FAQs. That might be local suppliers or local workarounds. We have had readers in every part of the earth, and active forum-ites and blog commenters from the UK, Czech Republic, Italy, and so on.
I hope that instead of starting a European website for bed bugs, people will pool the information here. But it has to start with readers. If readers do not share their solutions by commenting on the FAQs, we can't provide this to others.

Thank you for all your help. I will try to call the embassy for a pco. My neighbor is also actually a veterinarian so maybe he can help me locate something.
