Hi folks. Just a small question hoping that some one may can guide me in the right direction on where I can easily purchase something for my daughters bed.

My 4 yr old daughter has a twin size bed. (mattress, box and metal frame.) The frame of the bed has wheels on the bottom that "supposedly" lock. (uh, not!) Well when a 4 yr old hops into bed.....no such luck. The bed just rolls/slides away. I would just take off the wheels and leave it as is, but I don't want to scratch the wood floor.

I'm looking for some sort of end caps for the legs so the bed won't slide. I called Sleepy's where I bought the bed and they were of no obvious help. I don't want to get those bed risers cuz then the bed will be way to high for a child.

Does any one know where I could get these "leg end post things?" I don't even know what the real name for this type of part so my googling isn't doing much good. I know it's seems like a minor question, but some help/guidance would be great. I'm tierd of re-positioning the bed ever day. And poor kid, it's not like she's jumping on the bed or anything, she's just being a kid and getting into bed the way a kid does. :-) Thanks for any input....

A good hardware store should be able to fix you up... you might be able to find something at a home improvement center as well.

They make a molded rubber cup that you can place under the wheel or leg that is non-skid... I have seen them on the shelf at an Ace Hardware store.

Try googling furniture leg coasters. There are links to several products that you could mail order, plus there's an article about making your own by taking lids of jars and gluing a piece of felt on them. (though I think in your daughter's case, you would need something that doesn't slide- like foam rubber).

Hi Doug and Blue_Ox. Thanks for getting back to me on this. I was hoping to take the wheels off and replacing them with some sort of rubber ended posts. I swear I've seen these cone shaped things with a metal rod at the top of the cone for the "feet" instead of the wheels. But I think I'll be making a trip to Home Depot and/or Lowes with the kiddies for these coasters you guys are talking about and see what they have to offer. (thankfully my kiddies are really well behaved in public, but it's still a lot of work) :-)

I hope to find something that will work well! Thanks for info and getting back!

    Paula,

Keep looking. There are definately out there. I know exactly what you are talking about as I had these on my last bed frame. They attach the same way as wheels only instead of a wheel it is flat so the bed won't slide.

    I think this may help.
