    Hello,

Now that my apartment appears to be BB free and I'm broke, I decided it's OK to move. I don't want to bring any BBs with me, and I'm being very meticulous in treating my remaining stuff. In my research, I found that many bb sufferers have used DDVP to treat stuff they cannot Packtite/Launder/Steam. I am planning to use it on a few items (sewing machine, heater, paper shredder, dvd player, and maybe printer). I would use it on my microwave and a few other kitchen stuff, but I'm nervous about its toxicity on food handling items. Any thoughts on that? Also, for the same reason (and also 'cause it's huge), I am unsure about using the strips on my gas grill. I have a big one that I love and would just hate to leave behind. It stays in the balcony, so I'm not sure how much exposure it would have had to bed bugs in the first place. Anyone with experience in having moved bulky gas grills that were outside their infested house/apartments? Should I risk it? I'm not sure about using the pest strips since it's an item where we put food. There's also the issue of finding a bag big enough to seal it in. Anywhere I can find plastic encasements big enough to fit it? How have you guys treated things like that? Other than Vikane (can't afford it).

Also, has anyone treated their car with DDVP?

Almost no one here is qualified to tell you what can safely be done with DDVP. No one who is not an expert on this should be speculating.

Clicking the DDVP tag above will take you to other conversations. I've posted a link to a PMP magazine article on DDVP strips a few times.

Beyond that, please call the manufacturers of Nuvan Prostrips or Hot Hot No Pest strips-- they have hotlines and you can ask them. These have been posted before, but it is probably as easy to google the product name and find the manufacturer's website.

You're absolutely right, Nobugsonme! Thank you for the tip. I wasn't aware, and did not even consider they might have a hotline. I'll get to it, and also further read on the links.
