Question about Phantom residual effect
(3 posts)-
After leaning that Phantom's residual effect is long-lasting (how long? I've read conflicting things), I have a new idea/hope about our situation.
We had 3 chemical treatments that failed (I don't know what the chemicals sprayed were, but I had bites and saw live bugs afterwards). Then we received a heat treatment and were dusted with d. earth and found a live bug 8 days later. THEN a dog came to our apartment and found nothing, but our apartment was sprayed with Phantom for good measure. I found another live bug 7 days later. After I found this second bug, 3 Nightwatch monitors were placed in our apartment. After 9 nights, we haven't seen any bugs in the monitors and haven't seen any evidence of live bugs in our apartment. Interestingly, though, I've found 3 very dead bed bugs (flat, shriveled, and very dark) since finding the last live bug. (One was on my contact after I accidentally dropped it on the bathroom floor - yuck!).
Since finding the second bug, I've been determined that our problem is not over, despite the lack of bites, bugs in the monitors, or live bugs found. (And most of you on these forums have agreed!) But what if the Phantom has taken care of the remaining bugs and our problem is now over? Perhaps we still had bugs in the walls that were not killed by the heat treatment entering our apartment, but now they are being killed by the Phantom when trying to enter our apartment? (I heard that it takes Phantom awhile to work, so perhaps that's why we found that live bug 7 days after it was sprayed?) Perhaps that's why I've been finding the dead bugs? Our neighbors have been checked and are supposed clear, and we've treated our cars.
One more question/scenario. Let's imagine that what I described above IS happening, and bugs entering our apartment (either from our walls and/or our neighbor's apartments) are killed by the Phantom upon trying to enter our apartment. What happens when the Phantom wears off? Will the bugs just wait this out and then we've have to go through this all over again in a month/few months?
Any thoughts are welcome! Thanks!

Damn. All the good questions always have yet to be answered. I have been waiting for the Phantom and whatever else to work for weeks now. Still thinking that is true and one day there just won't be any more. How ARE we supposed to know for sure? Starting to wonder if they tell us stuff like this just to give us false hope and really none of this does anything.

I know
I think that I've at least answered one of my own questions by doing some research on these forums. I think that caulking around our baseboards (and elsewhere? where?) is an important step for keeping the bugs from re-entering our apartment after the Phantom wears off, if that is indeed what is happening.
