Question about bb dog coming in during spraying
(2 posts)-
We've had 4 PCO treatments and the PCO sprayed where the bb dog alerted. I'm STILL getting bites and as we have a 60 day warranty, the PCO has been back every 2 wks and resprayed. As my daughter is 2 yrs old I didn't want to spray where it wasn't necessary so they've been bringing the dog each time and spraying only where he alerts. I'm reading that many companies don't let the bb dog in for 30 days after a place was sprayed - why is this? I'm still getting the bites so something is going on but neither we or the PCO has ever found anything, no bugs, no casings, no fecal matter - nothing. I'm particularly confused because every time the dog has alerted to a spot near the foot of our bed/boxspring. Both are now well encased and even the PCO is unsure what he's alerting to but its always the same spot. The last time they sprayed all over the carpet in that area.

I think the reason most handlers want to wait 30 days is to maybe not have the dog sniff-up the residuals. I suspect that dogs noses are far more sensitive so it could be a bit harmful with their noses stuck up close to the recently sprayed places. That's just a guess on my part, maybe someone else can comment?
Is the dog alerting to the actual encasements themselves (i.e. inside?) or to the bedframe/carpet? I think dogs can sniff through encasements so it's possible that he's picking up them trapped inside?
Are the PCO and dog unit with the same company? Hate to suggest that anything 'shifty' is going on but who knows? You could try calling a different K9 team to come in.
