    Hi,

You may want to read this:

    http://bedbugger.com/forum/topic/warning-bed-bug-professionals-please-read-this

Its a help forum not a for sale forum plus I wonder if you are selling because conductive based heating technology is not what is currently recommended for bedbugs. Its all about the convection.

    David:

For somebody who does not know what they are talking about, you have an awful lot to say.

First of all, you would much rather put a direct fire heater in a living space while bringing all the outside ambient humidity into the structure thereby causing secondary damage not to mention the exhaust / fumes into the structure as well.

Secondly, as far as a help forum, you have an awful lot of advertisements for a LOT of products but that is OK as they are paying right? I am helping people find the correct equipment to do the right job. I am a master restorer and I dry structures for a living. Using this trailer I can get the temp to 140 degrees in NO time... good luck getting that temp with your direct fire heaters.

Thirdly, define convection... convection is air circulation. The heat exchangers have fans built in and proper placement of air movers will give you the convection you need.

If you were a good exterminator, you wouldn't have time to make nearly 5,000 posts as you would be in the field making money. You are probably a moderator and the only reason you are commenting on my trailers is because I did not pay for advertisement. If my pic was flashing on the side... it would be OK right? A true professional would NOT go to your forum for advice.

    Hi jimmyk,

1 I don't do whole home heating because it does not work in the properties I mainly work in.

2 If you would like a copy of my book on bedbugs please PM me and I will send you a copy to read.

3 I am not a moderator on this site and I am sure the host will explain about the advertising policy if they feel it is necessary.

4 I am in fact good enough to have trained a whole team of technicians who are capable of carrying out work when I am in the office or even when I am attending bedbug meetings or lecturing around the world.

5 I am sure if you stuck around enough you would see names from the industry that you recognise and as two of the top US entomologists have both mentioned my posts when I met them for the first time I know this is a well read resource.

I am sorry that you have made a lot of assumptions about my post, I hope this has corrected your errors.

    David

You really should refrain from personal attacks... if YOU are unfamiliar with the person that you are attacking.

David is not a moderator... He is a highly experienced bed bug specialist based in London.

An apology is in order... Do some research and you will find that you just embarrassed yourself on a public forum... Not the best way to make friends or boost sales.

A polite conversation about the merits of your system is encouraged... Posting infomercial ads on the forum is not permitted... Contact the website owner if you want to place an ad.

This forum is a support site for consumers.

I'm a consumer. I agree that an apology to David is in order.

    JimmyK,

Normally I would send a response to your post like this via email or private message, but since it's blossomed into a discussion, I am posting it publicly.

Your post above was deleted. I run the forums and yes, we do run ads on this site. Google ads are paid for by advertisers, and the other ads here are affiliate ads, which pay a (usually very small) commission only when someone purchases through the ads. You can read more about that here.

As an Internet user, I would prefer a site with no ads, but perhaps you don't realize how much time and money is involved in running a website with approx. 25K unique visitors a day, but it is considerable. As a consumer who once dealt with bed bugs, I would not be able to continue running this site for six years without running ads. It takes many hours a day and I have a full-time job (not in the least bit pest-related) as well.

David Cain is not a moderator, just a member like most here, and definitely an authority on bed bugs.

People who want to run a commercial ad can contact me or use Google Adwords directly.

Note however that since most people here are consumers, this may not be the best place for an ad like yours.

(I would note, however, in response to your comments, that pest management professionals have indeed come here for advice and even the experts who post regularly will tell you they have learned things from one another and consumers here.)

A discussion of appropriate heating technologies is a very appropriate one here.

Arguing why one type of heating device is best or not is appropriate here.

Promoting your product or personally attacking those who challenge the worth of a certain type of technology, are not appropriate here and are against the posted rules.

You are welcome to participate here, but please see the terms and conditions of use -- noting what is said about civility-- and the policy for professionals/product and service providers..

If you have questions, you can get in touch with me via the contact link above, or private message.

Just wondering who is next? You just insulted the moderator of the blog and one of the world's experts in bed bugs. Perhaps you have issue with Lou Sorkin or Killer Queen as well. Relax, its not a big deal, quick apology and then hang around and contribute, we do like new insights/members here and we've all put our foot in our mouth from time to time.
