Preparing for a the first bed bug treatment, no previous encounter with bed bugs
(3 posts)-
I live in a campus residence in UBC, Vancouver. The housing people are sending over a PCO tomorrow to treat my studio for the first time. They did not send me any instructions to prepare for the treatment though, I am kind of worried about their competency with BBs since they didn't communicate with me regarding any procedures. I am planning to launder and pack my clothes in XXL ziplocs tonight and do whatever is required tomorrow after talking to them. Any advice ?
I just moved into this studio and I think it was already infested with bed bugs. Although I can't be 100 percent sure. But I started noticing bites right after they did carpet cleaning "after" I moved in ( that was a couple days after my moving in ). That makes me lean towards bugs hiding in the carpet and coming out to infect the furniture I brought in. Although the furniture I purchased was used and could already have been infected. But anyways what's next ?
Thanks !

Best to follow their instructions. The university probably has a protocol and if they did not give instructions, you may not need to prep.

Well I finally stormed down the front desk after the person from PCO showed up this morning and asked me why I hadn't prepped my studio according the prep sheet. Apparently the prep sheet never was prepared for my appartment by the Building Services Manager. Way to fail. Now probably my treatment will be extended because I didn't do all the required stuff on time and there might be bed bugs hiding let's say in the electrical sockets I had to take out according to the prep sheet. Not happy with these people....
