    Hi,

I noticed this old old thread, as I was posting, but I figured I might start a new one all the same.

A friend of mine told me he had the bugs about a month ago, and has put off telling his building management or really taking any measures besides doing his laundry, getting a mattress case and buying some sort of pesticide on-line.

I've encouraged him, ever since he told me, to inform his building management/talk to a pest control professional, but he hasn't, for no clear reason. Personally, I'm concerned about meeting up with him at a place like a restaurant in case I get any bugs myself (actually, reading all the stories in the news these days, I'm concerned about going to a restaurant or any public place even by myself).

Any tips on what I should do when meeting my friend or just returning home from work/outdoors in general? I've already stopped sitting on the buses and subway trains I use for my daily commute to and from work. Should I never wear an item of clothing twice without drying? Is stripping at the door the future/present of bed bug control?

My new protocol is to strip when I get home (we do this in the garage) clothes in a ziploc and put fresh clothes from a ziploc on. No shoes or bags in the house. Garage floor has a coating of DE and had been sprayed with Phantom also.

I have a packtite so I can treat these items along with a dryer. This is overkill but I like overkill when it comes to bedbugs.

Your friend needs to step up and treat - he will infest someone else - that is why this is becoming a big problem.
