On the day after a night when I get bit, I feel them crawling on me. I've still never seen one though. I always get woken up when they've been feasting on me. I think the bites do something to our nervous system, like it's on high alert until the bites fade.

I feel like they are crawling on me, wake up, and there is nothing no bugs and no bites. There is no blood stain or mark. It is very frustrating.

I keep feeling them, but honestly I have never seen a llive or dead bug. I've only been bitten that I know of three times in past 2 months and yet I feel them biting all the time. Obviously they aren't, but my skin literally feels them so to speak.

I constantly "feel" them on me, but again, I see nothing. They are doing a hell of a job on me, meaning my sanity. I constantly want to cry.

No, I don't feel the REAL ones - just the imagined bugs. You can only imagine my horror when getting up in the middle of the night to find one actually feeding on my leg. I watched it and truly could not feel it. THAT was our true realization that we had bed bugs. I didn't sleep for a week.....

Now I get the 'heebie jeebies' and feel them all over me, and nothing is there. Horrifying that these little bugs can take us to, or over the edge of insanity!!!

I once had a bedbug bite my leg when I was sitting at my desk. I looked down and saw the fresh blood bite, but hadn't felt anything crawling or biting. I once felt a bedbug on me and saw it. It was full of blood and weighed more so it waddled and wasn't as fast or light on its feet as normal. I'd say with all the bedbug bites I've had, it is extremely rare for me to feel the bedbugs, but I get those crawly feelings a lot that people describe here.

i get the creepy-crawly sensations quite a bit, and usually find nothing. but i've also had a few 'bites' where i feel a pinching sensation and then immediately notice a red welt with a little tiny dot. had one just the other day.

then today, just an hour ago, i felt this little pinch on my back. i whipped up my shirt and was trying to look at my back in the mirror. i could see this tiny little black dot. i picked at it and it came off on my finger tip... it's a tiny speck with what looks like a little stinger... and possibly my skin on it. it definitely PINCHED.
any ideas what that could be?

i'm almost convinced i may not have bed bugs anymore, but now have some kind of mite. i moved in JULY after having BBs in my last place. i haven't seen any bedbugs since i moved, have not had any bloodstains on sheets or anything. just get these weird red welt-like marks around my bra, combined with the odd pinching bite... and the creepy crawly sensations. so it's almost 4 months since i moved in. if i still had BBs or had brought some with me, wouldn't i be seeing more evidence?

any comments on what else might be causing my weird sensations and bites?

sickandtired, it is possible you don't have bedbugs. Years ago I held a friends puppy and I broke out in a huge rash a day or two later. The puppy was exposed to their pet rabbit and had rabbit mites. It had cheyletiella mites. I only bring this up because months later I would still get itches around my bra and sometimes around the waistband of my underwear. I would whip up my shirt and feel nothing. This was almost 15 years ago so I have forgot how long it lasted etc.

I only know that mites can be itchy and leave welts for sure, but mine looked more like a heat rash, coming and going. Maybe different types of mites leave different marks.

I hope you can find out what is bothering you!

do you remember if you did anything to get rid of mites??

these red marks i get are not really like the original bb bites i had, i know that. at first, i thought maybe this was nymphs and eventually they'd grow/get worse/ and then i might start seeing more regular BB bites again. but that hasn't happened.

but it also seems like i'm not the only person to go through this kind of experience after having BBs. it seems kind of common on the board for people to post about seeing strange red bite-like marks and not being sure whether they still have BBs. it would be nice to find out what the hell causes this strange post-BB phenomenon!

sickandtired, it was so long ago, but I went to a dermatologist after we finally found out my friends dog had these mites. At first I couldn't figure it out, I was so broke out on my chest, a result of hugging the puppy. Their vet diagnosed the mite issue on puppy, she told me, I told my doctor who sent me to dermatologist as I was going crazy with itching. It seems that I was given a creme, maybe elimite I think. It was a toxic stuff that you put on, it helped. I remember after that I started mixing tea tree oil with vaseline instead of the elemite and the itching finally stopped several months later. I just remember washing my sheets alot. Sheesh, I had forgotten that whole mite nightmare...lol
Can you see a dermatologist? If you can, I would look for one who deals with mites or scabies or who has a good grasp on these types of skin issues versus one who specializes in cosmetic or etc.
Unless you have bird mites, it should be fairly easy to get rid of them. It is not like fighting bed bugs (but I have heard fighting bird mites is pretty tough).

I have felt my skin crawling for the last week since I became convinced that we had bed bugs. Still, what I feel in the middle of the night is a ferocious hot burning sensation, like my skin is on fire. Without fail, when i go into the bathroom, I see hives starting to pop up. It is miserable. These bites are fierce, and leave my skin swollen and hot for days in addition to the itching bites. I'm miserable. Exterminator coming on Wednesday. Five more miserable days at least ahead of us...

I am currently suffering from this horrible infestation in my apartment complex. Hopefully they get Orkin out here and get rid of these pests so that me and the other tenants can have some peace.

These stupid bites make me think they are crawling all over me. I have tried everything to get rid of the itching and have almost lost my sanity.

I'm somewhat convinced that when my daughters make any noise in there beds that they are getting bitten... so I do the search and destroy mission, I've only ever seen one during such missions... I suppose its a real possibility that they always made noises while sleeping and I'm just hyper sensitive to it now.

I have never felt on on me at all... but I spend the first hour or so of sleeping itching like a crazy person and randomly itch when I'm not sleeping. When I'm feeling especially paranoid I manage to convince myself that they are in the crevices of my body... which is ultra paranoid and is usually pretty fleeting, more of a sleep-deprived problem I think.

So yea, no real bugs crawling on me that I can feel, but loads of creepy-crawlies...

I get woken up in the middle of the night when they feed, definitely, and at least three times have woken up yelling because I FELT the bite!!! Also once I felt it crawling up my leg and then it bit me and I woke up yelling. Never have I caught one biting me, though. I've caught several live ones in the bedrooms. We had an infestation this past summer and it went away for several months but may be back now. Long sickening story, but this last time I got the above symptoms (and more) plus bites but it took me almost a week to figure it out. So for the @$$^*!es who preach that these symptoms are "psychological," there's proof that they AREN'T. I went through hell with these things and had one doctor sneer at me that it was all in my head, but last week I didn't suspect bed bugs but just couldn't figure out why I itched from head to toe and my scalp, eyes, face and neck were "on fire." I tried to dismiss the 13+ bites as other things (not to mention the bed bug poop on the sheets). It wasn't until I discovered the tears in the bed encasement that it sunk in. We got rid of that bed and are using one that we'd had in storage, but it's too soon to tell if they're gone or not. No new bites in several days.

ever since the first time around (we're on time number three in two years) i've always felt like I've had something crawling on me. I've caught two in my bed that had just fed off of me. I didn't feel them actually crawl on me, but I did feel them bite and woke to it. My husband was amazed that in my drowsy state i was still able to see and kill the [expletive deleted]!

the first time around i said "i feel the bites, i see the bites, i feel like i have things crawling on me but i see no bugs! am i going nuts and imagining it or do you see the bites too?"

This was before I knew we had them...when it was still just a childs nursery rhyme.

Everything itches. All the time. I, like many other of you who have posted, feel like something is crawling on me all the time. Every tag on my clothes, every seam in my pajamas, itches like crazy now.

Every time I itch, I look for a bite.. not sure if it is one. Trying to remind myself of the first bites I got... I still have scars from those so I don't think the new itchy spots are bites. No marks, just an itchy spot.

But I have never seen a bug crawling on me, so I don't know if I would feel it.
