Please help me ID this bug
(11 posts)-
Hello all,
For the past week, I have had all kinds of bite marks on me. I thought it was something else until I found 2 bugs on my mattress (different sizes). I made the mistake of throwing them away. Recently, I found this site (thinking they might be bedbugs). Can you help me ID them?

If these are bed bugs, what do I do? There is no way I can afford to pay $300-2000 on treatments. I am also moving in a few days (already set before I found this out). How do I prevent taking them with me? What are somethings that I can do on my own?
Thank you for your help.

Can you take the bug out of the bag and take a dorsal and ventral picture? AKA = top and bottom picture.

From the photo posted, it looks like it's a bed bug. Sorry ! paul b.

Those were the best that I could do. Hopefully you can see it. Thanks again!

OK, I can't tell for sure based upon these photos.
From what I can see the abdomen (tail end) appears to be consistent with how a bed bug/cimicid would appear but the head/thorax area does not appear to be right.
Can you post a macro photo?
Thanks ! paul b.

Thats what I've been trying to do, but my camera is crappy. Those were the best I could get. I don't know what else to do. I can't pay the fees for someone to come out and confirm.

Anyone else? Can you tell from the pics? PLEASE HELP!

I asked for another view based on what Paul mentioned. You are taking the photos on an angel rather then right over the top of it. Can you focus in directly over the top of the bug?
Sorry to be so critical here, we just want to get it right. Unfortunately it looks all too much like a bed bug but some people have gotten lucky with easier pests to deal with.
