so....i got rid of bed bugs about a year ago.....i can't handle this again anyway, i don't have any bites but today i found this cast and two black spots that streaked when i smeared them. does this look like a bed bug? i know the pictures aren't great. it was a bit shiny. and black/brown.

cfowler's response was deleted as off topic. (Other poster was not soliciting experimental advice. OP is trying to confirm a bed bug problem.)

freakingout, Does not look like a bed bug cast skin. I am not an expert, and I am sure some will be around tomorrow to confirm and suggest what it might be.

It's not from a bed bug ... could possibly be part of a beetle. Nothing to worry about none the less

This is an elytron (wing casing) of a beetle.

I don't know about anyone else, but these expert bug IDs are doing wonders for my vocabulary! Thanks, Sean.
