Pics of something I found in my bathroom...
(9 posts)-
...crawling around the top of the sink. I counted six legs and two antennae.
The back looks way to thick to be a bed bug, and there was no visible banding, but I'm worried nonetheless.

Looks like a spider beetle to me.

Now that I know what to look for, you're right...it does look like one.
I'm normally not paranoid, but the other half of my building has experienced repeated BB infestations, and I've been somewhat on edge. The fact it's an ancient structure with a ridiculous number of nooks and crannies, cracks and crevices has only heightened that.

Does not look like a BB to me. I saw many in NYC (all life stages). Yours looks too full, shiny and roundish. Although I can't see its head very well.

Hi,
Cant be 100% but try looking up Australian Spider Mites I think you will find it is one of them.
Only ever seen one case of them about 4 years back in London and then only dead samples were would.
Great pictures, a tip if you can always try to catch views from above and the side but the resolution and quality are perfect.

Looks much like Lou Sorkin's picture of a spider beetle on flickr.com

I don't know where you are, pessimistic, but I am in NYC and have had these in my apt. Lots of others do too. They're supposed to be a stored grain pest, as Lou notes in the link above, but I found them all over (and in the absence of spilled grain!)

Hi,
How odd, I had a call at 4:45pm asking for an inspection visit to id a unknown sample found in a house that had bed bugs in other rooms.
Yes you guess it, just like the pictures shown above but this one had been dead some time. I will try and capture a few good shots. If you could send me high resolution copies of the ones on flicker I will put a page up about them.
When dried out they are a more amber colour.

My guess is a spider beetle. I was told that they like to feed off meat as well like a dead mouse.
